Why I’m Devoted to Women’s Health and Pelvic Floor Care
My passion for women’s health is personal, political, and professional. It’s no secret that the modern medical system was built by and for men. For far too long, women have been dismissed, misunderstood, or shamed when speaking about their bodies.
We’ve been labeled “hysterical,” “too sensitive,” or told that pain, leakage, or sexual discomfort is normal—something to tolerate, cover up, or fix with vague advice like “just use more lube ”or “this is how it is now that you’re a mother”. None of that sat right with me nor is it appropriate — and I knew I wanted to be part of rewriting that story.
During my DPT training, I was drawn to pelvic floor health. It amazed me how essential it is to our well-being — how vital it is to our strength, pleasure, and healing—and yet how rarely it’s talked about in ways that truly empower women. Women are often too embarrassed to even bring up symptoms like bladder leakage, painful intercourse, or pelvic heaviness. And when they do, they’re frequently met with dismissal and left stigmatized. I saw a massive gap in care—one that was not just physical, but emotional and spiritual too.
So I chose to specialize in women’s pelvic health, focusing on the preconception, prenatal, and postpartum periods. These are powerful transitions in a woman’s life—but they can also bring up deep physical discomfort, emotional vulnerability, and old wounds if not properly supported. As a doula with a DPT background, I offer an integrative approach that blends hands-on care, breathwork, strength training, relaxation techniques, and education. My goal is to help you understand your body, trust your instincts, and feel strong and safe in your pelvic bowl—before, during, and after birth.
Whether you're preparing to conceive, carrying your baby, or healing after birth, I’m here to support your entire journey. I also offer discounted pelvic floor therapy services for my doula clients, because I believe that every woman deserves access to care that uplifts, informs, and honors her full experience—not just as a patient, but as a whole, powerful being.
